Electrogas project to start soon
June 27, 1997 The Electrogas consortium, which will transport natural gas from Santiago to Region V, announced it will start work on the gas pipe line on July 27, 1997. The consortium is comprised of Endesa and Colbun, each with a 42.5 % of the project and Enap owning 15 %. The pipe line is scheduled to supply the Nehuenco plant owned by Colbun with natural gas starting January 1, 1998. Electrogas will also supply the San Isidro plant owned by Endesa and Region V gas distributors Energas and GasValpo. The construction contract valued at $ 12 mm was awarded to the Techint International consortium.
