Jul 14, 1997 02:00 AM

June 24, 1997 The Tallinn Terminal in Estonia has shipped 1 million metric tons of oil since its start-up last September. The tonnage (equivalent to over 7 million barrels) included fuel oil from Russia, which was marketed mostly to customers in Europe, and crude oil from Kazakhstan.
Owned and operated by E.O.S. (Estonian Oil Services) Ltd., the terminal markets crude oil and petroleum products primarily from the former Soviet Union to Europe, North and South America, and the Caribbean. The terminal has a storage capacity of 120,000 cm (750,000 barrels) and facilities to unload more than 160 rail tank cars daily. A newly constructed, electrically heated, 4.6-mile (7.5-km) pipeline connects the terminal to the port of Muuga for loading onto export vessels.
E.O.S. Ltd. is an Estonian subsidiary of Coastal Baltica Holding Company Ltd., which is jointly owned by a Coastal subsidiary and Baltica Finance N.V., a Swedish-Dutch-owned company.
