Anadarko discovers oil and gas field in Oklahoma
July 16, 1997 Anadarko Petroleum Corporation has announced the discovery of a new field in Grady County, Oklahoma,
known as the Laflin Creek Field. The Heiple "A" 1-35 exploratory well flowed 1,152 barrels of oil per day of 40
degree API gravity crude oil and 2.4 million cubic feet per day of natural gas through a 1/2-inch choke with 1,600
psi flowing tubing pressure.
The Heiple "A" 1-35 was completed in the Springer Sand from 32 feet of net pay over perforations from 12,764-12,796
feet. The well should be on production within three weeks. Anadarko owns a 99.5-% working interest in the well. The
Company will immediately begin a multi-well delineation program. Anadarko holds more than 6,500 net acres offsetting
this discovery well.
