YPF to invest $ 808 mm in petchem

August 27, 1997 Argentina's YPF schedules investments of $ 808 million in several petrochemical projects up to 2002, or 36 % of its overall planned investments. Two major projects are the Mega gas project, in association with Petrobras and Dow Chemicals, and a major fertilisers plant in association with Perez Companc. Mega project is to cost $ 650 million, and is to use natural gas from Loma la Lata reserves, Neuquen province, where a gas separating plant is to be erected, together with a 600 km pipeline up to Bahia Blanca. Part of the output will be exported, part will supply petrochemicals plants there, and PE producer Polisur.
