BHP invests $ 100 mm in Brazil power projects
BHP will invest $ 100 mm to erect 2 natural gas-powered thermo-electric power plants in Macae (Rio de Janeiro) and Parana (Brazil). The project will demand investments of $ 600 mm that will be shared with Petrobras, British Gas, El Paso, Copel (Companhia Paranaense de Eletricidade) and Furnas. Each of the plants will have a power capacity of 480 MW and cost $ 300 mm. They will produce energy for the southern and south-eastern regions of the country.
