Denmark awards exploration licences
Denmark's energy agency has approved oil exploration licences for four areas in the Danish North Sea and one onshore
site under its new "open door" policy.
An agency statement said that the local A.P. Moeller group shared one licence with Shell and state-owned DOPAS, which
had a 20 % stake in each of the five concessions.
Italian Agip shared a North Sea licence with DOPAS. Amerada Hess, Enterprise Oil Exploration Ltd and the Danish
Denerco Oil A/S shared another.
The fourth North Sea concession went to Amerada Hess, Denerco and DOPAS and a licence to prospect onshore, north of
Copenhagen, was awarded to Denmark's Odin Energi and DOPAS.
The North Sea sites are east of existing concessions.
