Brazil extends B - B pipeline for power generation

Sep 17, 1997 02:00 AM

The Brazilian government aims to erect in the state of Goias a terminal of the natural gas pipeline that will be erected between Bolivia and Brazil. The pipeline will reach the state by the city of Serranopolis, located in the south-western part of it, and then cross the cities of Jatai, Rio Verde, Goiania and Anapolis to finally end in Brasilia (DC). The move will encourage the construction of 2 natural gas-powered, 200-MW thermoelectric power plants in Brasilia and Goiania to assure the energy supply. The natural gas will also be supplied to the state of Minas Gerais through a terminal located in the city of Juiz de Fora (Minas Gerais).
