The Bolivian government said 8 companies or groups were awarded oil and gas production rights over 8,000 hectares after they pledged to invest a total of at least $ 324 million over three years.
Energy Secretary Carlos Lopez told those investments were in addition to the $ 834 million committed by three companies that this year took control of the oil and gas arms of state oil firm YPFB, which were privatised last year.
Among those awarded productions rights were Brazilian Petrobras and Argentina's Tecpetrol, Pluspetrol, Bridas and Petrolera Argentina San Jorge.
