Peru's trade deficit grows
Peru's trade deficit in the first 10 months of 1997 was $ 1.352 bn, compared with $ 1.657 bn in 1996.
The Central Bank forecasts 1997 trade deficit will be $ 1.7 bn and widen to $ 1.9 bn in 1998 because of lower
fishmeal production and falling international prices of coffee and some metals.
Peru's trade deficit fell 9 % in 1996 to $ 1.996 bn from $ 2.185 bn in 1995, according to the central bank.
