Vintage Petroleum has drilled a successful discovery well in the Fisher's Reef area of Galveston Bay, Texas. The Texas State 6-7A discovery well was drilled to a depth of 8,900 feet encountering approximately 49 feet of net pay in a Frio sand. The well is currently producing at a gross rate of 5 million cubic feet per day of gas (2 mm cfpd net to Vintage) and 107 barrels of condensate (40 barrels net) with the potential to further increase production.
The well is the seventh consecutive successful well to be drilled in the Galveston Bay area by Vintage and its exploration partner, EEX Corporation. Additionally, Vintage has enhanced the production from the State Tract 75-1 well in Galveston Bay. The State Tract 75-1 well, discovered in late 1996, was recompleted in the Anomalina zone at a depth of 10,170 feet. The well is currently producing 8 mm cfpd (3 mm cfpd net to Vintage) and 130 barrels of condensate (51 barrels net).
Currently, combined daily gross production from Vintage's Galveston Bay wells totals 73 mm cfpd (29 mm cfpd net to Vintage) and 919 barrels of condensate (368 barrels net).
Vintage operates and has a 50 % working interest along with EEX Corporation.
