Henan Province to upgrade power grids

Central China's Henan Province plans to allocate 5.3 bn yuan over the next 3 years to upgrade power grids of 18 major cities.
Henan will build 42 substations and enlarge an additional 23 facilities between 1998-2000, with related projects expected to increase the power supply capacity per year by 580,000 kW.
The Provincial Power Corp. will provide the estimated 1 bn yuan in capital required for the upgrade project. Henan will also obtain loans from the Bank of China, the State Development Bank and various commercial banks.
