Russian parliament approves listing of 3 oil fields

Sibir Energy PLC said the Federation Council, the upper house of the Russian Parliament, has approved a bill to admit to the production sharing agreement process the three Western Siberian oil fields in which Sibir has an indirect interest.
The fields are West Salym, Upper Salym and Vadelyp, Sibir added The council approval follows last month's approval of the third reading of a the bill by the Duma, the lower house of the Russian Parliament.
Sibir said the bill is now required to be signed into law by President Boris Yeltsin, adding that a further announcement will be made at that time.
