Russia to deliver to Cuba 1.5 mm tons of oil

Jun 18, 1999 02:00 AM

The government of the Russian Federation assigned the Ministry of Fuel and Energy and the Ministry of Economics to single out up to 1.5 mm tons of oil for deliveries to Cuba in April-September of 1999.
The inter-departmental commission for resolving issues connected with the use of the system of main pipelines for oil and oil products and terminals in sea ports for exporting oil and oil products beyond the limits of the customs territory of the Russian Federation, are instructed to ensure additional transportation of oil at the size of up to 1.5 mm tons, proceeding from the principle of an equal access.
This volume of export of oil through the system of main oil pipelines is provided to oil and gas extracting organisations, the operator of which is the "Alfa-Eko" company, which won a tender in 1995, on condition of the strict observance by this company of clauses of the protocol and agreements on terms of the sale of oil.
Cuba will pay for oil by deliveries of sugar to Russia.
