Heritage sues Nigerian government
Oil company Heritage Oil and Gas has sued the Nigerian government over the cancellation of its oil prospecting
licence, awarded by a previous military administration. Heritage is seeking $ 14 mm in damages over the cancellation
of its licence, the radio station Rhythm FM reported.
The company was one of 16 whose licences were cancelled by the new government following an inquiry into how the
licenses were awarded by the last military government.
Heritage has denied widespread press reports that it is controlled by former military ruler Ibrahim Babangida, the
radio report said.
