Asgard gas trunkline in the Norwegian Sea completed
The LB 200 laybarge has laid the final section of the Asgard Transport gas trunkline in the Norwegian Sea. The
pipeline will carry rich gas from Asgard B to the Statoil gas treatment complex at Karstoe, north of Stavanger.
LB 200 will now turn east and move a couple of hundred metres in order to lay a 97 km flowline loop which will run
from Asgard B to Midgard and back, a Statoil spokesman told. The pipeline is due to be operational from October 1,
1999.
