Consortium bidded for Verolme shipyard in Rio de Janeiro
The consortium teamed by Lisnave (Portugal), Ferrostal and Thyssen bidded for the purchase or rental of the Verolme shipyard in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil so as to provide off-shore oil rigs repairing services to Petrobras, a business that would generate some $ 300 mm revenues. According to BNDES, which is co-ordinating Verolme's sale, the other groups that bidded for the shipyard were Kfels (South Korea), Setal (Brazil), the Ilha shipyard (Brazil), Friede Goldman (US), DCN (France), Odebrecht and Schain Cury (Brazil).
