FLT Energy develops new internet technology for energy buyers
FLT Energy Services announced the release of two innovative Internet based software products for the energy
industry.
FLT Energy has developed an electronic Internet based system designed to facilitate the procurement of energy for the
industrial, utility, commercial, and power generating business segments. This business to business e-commerce system
is called EnergyGateway and allows energy consumers to efficiently co-ordinate their energy procurement through a
larger base of competitive suppliers at a lower total cost.
The system also allows sellers of energy to reach broader markets while realising lower customer acquisition and
transaction expenses. This system differs from existing industry Internet tools in several ways and allows the Buyer
to be a known party to all transactions while keeping the Supplier bids in a secure and confidential environment.
FLT Energy has concurrently developed DealQuestPlus to help both energy consumers and producers achieve instant price
discovery for price comparison or budgeting purposes.
DealQuestPlus will enable energy decision-makers to make more informed choices in a fraction of the time they
spend.
Both systems are currently completing the testing phase with a planned launch date of September 15, 1999. FLT Energy
is currently securing commitments from both Buyers and Sellers of natural gas with other energy products soon to
follow.
FLT Energy is an independent privately held energy management firm with expected revenue of $ 40 mm in 1999. FLT
Energy is swiftly becoming one of the country's largest minority-owned energy companies. FLT Energy has offices in
Pittsburgh and Columbus.
FLT Energy is a subsidiary of Pittsburgh based FLT Trading, Inc., which performs brokerage services for coal to
utilities and large industrials.
FLT Energy currently serves customers throughout the United States. For more information please go to
