Iraq and Indonesia sign minutes on economic co-operation

Iraq and Indonesia signed minutes of the 5th session of the Iraqi-Indonesian Joint Committee for Economic Co-operation. The document was signed by Iraqi Trade Minister Mohammad Mehdi Salah and visiting Indonesian Trade and Industry Minister Rahardi Ramelan who arrived here with a large trade delegation.
The two countries agreed on holding the 6th session of the joint committee in Jakarta, capital of Indonesia, next year and expanding Indonesian firms' participation in the Baghdad International, the Iraqi News Agency reported. According to the minutes, the two countries will exchange expertises and Indonesia will provide training chances for Iraqi personnel.
Ramelan told that Indonesia had made enlarged contacts with Iraq to develop southern Iraq's Toba and Alaal oil fields whose daily production after operation is estimated at 80,000 barrels. The Indonesian minister said that an oil delegation will arrive in Baghdad to continue discussions with the Iraqi side.
Ramelan was received by President Saddam Hussein. During the meeting, Ramelan conveyed to Saddam a letter from Indonesian President B.J. Habibi on bilateral relations.
