Kazakhstan reports on January-October oil, gas product output

Kazakhstan's State Statistics Agency announced that some 21.938 million metric tons of crude oil had been produced in the first nine months of the year, up 12% on last year's figure.
Natural gas production, meanwhile, amounted to 7.991 billion cubic meters in the January-October period, up 23% on the figure posted in the same interval of 1998.
Kazakh refineries turned out 1.0945 million metric tons of gasoline and 1.7291 million metric tons of fuel oil during the nine-month period, down 25.4% and 31.3%, respectively, on the figures posted in the first 10 months of last year.
The agency also noted that 2.419 million metric tons of oil had been produced in October alone, up 25.2% on the year-ago figure and 8.5% on the September figure. Some 929 million cubic meters of gas were extracted in the month of October, marking a 52.4% year-on-year rise and a 30% month-on-month increase.
Also in October, 147,100 metric tons of gasoline and 197,500 metric tons of fuel oil were produced -- up 11.4% and down 25.8%, respectively, on the year-ago figures, and 8.2% up and 25.8% down, respectively, on September figures.
