Turkmenistan reports gas output up in October

Turkmenistan's State Statistics Agency announced that 897 million cubic meters of natural gas had been produced in the month of October, up 13% on the September figure of 795 million cubic meters.
It also noted that 19.384 billion cubic meters of gas had been produced in the first 10 months of the year. No year-ago figures were provided for comparison.
The agency further noted that 621,000 metric tons of crude oil had been produced in October alone, up 0.4% on the September figure. Turkmenistan extracted a total of 5.824 million metric tons of oil between January and October, up 12% on the figure posted in the same period of 1998.
According to the state oil concern Turkmenneft, crude output may amount to 7 million metric tons for the whole of 1999.
Also in October, some 85,500 metric tons of gasoline, 106,200 metric tons of diesel and 99,200 metric tons of fuel oil were produced, marking a 44% rise, 20% fall and 39% rise, respectively, from September.
In the January-October interval, some 708,000 metric tons of gasoline were produced, 21% up on the year-ago figure. In the same period, 1.118 million metric tons of diesel and 1.263 million metric tons of fuel oil were produced, down 15% and 28%, respectively, on year-ago levels.
