Ukraine reports oil output, refining down, gas output up

Ukraine's State Statistics Committee said that 3.163 million metric tons of crude oil and gas condensate had been produced in the first 10 months of 1999.
By contrast, about 3.254 million metric tons of oil and condensate were extracted in the January-October period of 1998. In October alone, oil and condensate output amounted to 326,000 metric tons, 3.4% up on the September figure.
Meanwhile, some 14.9 billion cubic meters of gas were produced in the first 10 months of this year, up on the figure of approximately 14.86 billion cubic meters posted in the same period of last year. In October alone, gas output amounted to 1.5 billion cubic meters, 4.3% up on the September figure.
Separately, the State Statistics Committee announced that Ukrainian refineries had processed a total of 9.62 million metric tons of crude oil in the January-October period. In the same interval of last year, by contrast, throughput stood at 10.877 million metric tons. The refineries handled some 517,400 metric tons of crude in October alone, compared to 962,000 metric tons in September.
Gasoline output in the January-October period amounted to 2.185 million metric tons, down on the year-ago figure of 2.529 million metric tons, while diesel output stood at 2.848 million metric tons, down from 3.309 million metric tons.
