Duma approves PSA for Vankorskoye field

Dec 02, 1999 01:00 AM

The Russian State Duma has given its approval to a production-sharing agreement (PSA) covering the Vankorskoye oil and gas field.
Duma members have voted three times on the Vankorskoye PSA, which must now go to the Federation Counsil, the upper house of parliament. If the bill passes on three votes in the Federation Council, it will then be sent to the president's office for signature.
The PSA outlines the terms for development of Vankorskoye by Yeniseineft and Royal Dutch/Shell.
Yeniseineft holds the license to the field, which is believed to hold approximately 125.3 million metric tons of oil and 76.8 billion cubic meters of gas. Development of the concession may require some $ 2.36 billion.
