Pakistan grants two exploration licenses

Pakistan's Federal Government granted two petroleum exploration licenses to joint ventures. The first was given to a company owned by Paige Ltd (Paige 80 %), RDC International Ltd (RDC, 15 %) and Government of Pakistan Holdings (5 % carried) for exploration of the Murgha Faqir Block No.3167-1 covering 7382 sq. km, in the Loralai, Quetta and Pasni districts of Balochistan province.

The other license was granted to a joint venture of Pakistan Oilfields Ltd (POL, 95 %) and Government of Pakistan Holdings (5 % carried) over Khushalgarh Block No.3372-10 covering 703sq km, in Attock and Chakwal district of Punjab province.

The licenses and the agreements were signed by Dr Gulfraz Ahmad, Secretary Petroleum and Natural Resources on behalf of the President of Pakistan. Arif Kamal CEO Pakistan Oilfields, Javed Ahmad for Paige Ltd, Muhammad Tariq Saleem for RDC International and Shahid Ahmad director General Petroleum Concession for government Holdings.
