Russia expanding relationship with Vietnam

Russian Fuel and Energy Minister Viktor Kalyuzhny signed several documents during a visit to Vietnam, including an agreement on expanding Vietsovpetro's zone of development on the Vietnamese shelf, a memorandum on the joint venture's guidelines in 2000 and an agreement on speeding up oil refinery construction rates.
During his visit, Russian Fuel and Energy Minister Viktor Kalyuzhny said he supported Zarubezhneft's plans to build Vietnam's first oil refinery at Dung Quat with an annual capacity of over 6 million metric tons.
The republic's industry minister agreed to consider Russia's offer to take charge of building the entire infrastructure for Vietnam's fuel and power sector.
