Morocco-based Samir is to invest some $ 600 mm in order to update its output equipment and thereby increase refining capacity. The modification initiative is expected to commence in September and it would be of five years duration.
Central to the modernisation plan is the construction of eight new refining units. It is expected that these units will increase annual refining capacity from 8 mm tons to 10 mm tons.
Plans are also underway to commission several new hydro-cracking units. The company is aiming to have the new facilities in operation within four years.
