Pemex accused of prohibiting lubricants sale

Jul 05, 2000 02:00 AM

The National Chamber of the Manufacturing Industry (Canacintra, as a Spanish acronym) accused Pemex of monopoly practices in the lubrications sector.
The Canacintra released a communiqué in which it accuses Pemex of prohibiting the sale or advertising of any lubricants which are not manufactured by the state company at each of the Pemex franchise gas stations. This is a direct violation of monopoly laws and benefits only MexLub, the lubricants subsidiary of Pemex.
