Western Geophysical launches www.infoSeis.com

Aug 07, 2000 02:00 AM

Western Geophysical has launched www.infoSeis.com, a Web site that provides interactive access to Western's world-wide 2-D and 3-D multi-client seismic data library.
The infoSeis Web site is based on the Geographic Information System (GIS) to allow precise map-based browsing of the seismic survey plats, cultural and other spatial data. The user can conduct map-based or alphanumeric searches and then pan, zoom, and access map layers. Additional information about available surveys can be viewed and downloaded.
"The infoSeis Web site can enable client teams to use the latest Internet technology for rapid access to Western's multi-client seismic surveys," explained Gary E. Jones, Western Geophysical president. "This, in turn, can help oil and gas companies speed up the exploration and field development cycle."

A division of Baker Hughes, Western Geophysical is a leading world-wide oilfield information services company, providing seismic and reservoir solutions from initial prospect assessment through fully integrated reservoir evaluation.
Baker Hughes is a leading supplier of reservoir-centred products, services and systems to the world-wide oil and gas industry.
