Russian government says it won't sell 2.5% stake in Gazprom soon

The Russian Property Ministry has no plans to sell 2.5% of Gazprom shares in 2000 or 2001, announced State Property Minister Farit Gazizullin. According to Gazizullin, at the moment, the state can reap no more than $ 550 mm from the stake, whereas a similar block of shares went for $ 650 mm in 1998. Gazizullin believes that, in a year or two the stake will be worth $ 1.0-1.2 bn.
