Bouygues Offshore signs co-operation agreement with China's COOEC

Bouygues Offshore, has signed a co-operation agreement with the Chinese Company Offshore Oil Engineering Co. (COOEC). This co-operation agreement is intended to provide both partners with the exclusive use of assets and capabilities of each partner for all projects in China and in Asia Pacific.
COOEC is an experienced company, specialised in engineering, fabrication and installation of offshore platforms and pipelines. The company operates a fully equipped fabrication yard located in Tanggu (Bohai bay).
Bouygues Offshore will particularly be able to use COOEC's derrick lay barge, the Lan Tiang DLB 4000. This barge, which is under construction, will be one of the most powerful derrick lay barges in this area. Its delivery is scheduled for 2001. This exclusive co-operative agreement gives Bouygues Offshore the opportunity to become a major player in this region.
