BP Amoco is planning to import LNG into China as part of its joint venture with PetroChina, BP Amoco deputy CEO Rodney Chase told analysts at the company's annual strategy presentation in London.
BP Amoco is also planning to exploit the joint venture with PetroChina to build a strong retail site network in China's southern provinces. "China's need for natural gas is growing fast," Chase said. "Our intention is to grow the joint venture for gas with PetroChina. We will import LNG ... our intention is to win a strong position in the new LNG import terminals that are needed to bring this gas to market."
