Kvaerner to supply Subsea Control System for Echo/Yodel field

Jul 25, 2000 02:00 AM

Kvaerner Oilfield Products has won a key contract for Woodside's latest gas/condensate venture off the North West coast of Australia. The contract calls for Kvaerner to supply the Subsea Control System for the Echo/Yodel field on the North West Shelf.
Located 24 km south of the Goodwyn A Platform, the Echo/Yodel development will be tied into Goodwyn production via a 12 inch pipeline. Echo/Yodel will be developed through two subsea wells, with production rates to range between 200 mm cfpd to 300 mm cfpd. Production from the new development will be co-mingled with Goodwyn fluids and processed on the Goodwyn A Platform and then exported into the inter-field pipeline.

Kvaerner's Subsea Controls System contract is for the provision of a multiplexed electro-hydraulic control system to operate the subsea wells, including topside and subsea equipment. Each well will have its own control module providing control of tree valves and chokes, and monitoring of well parameters.
Services, including power, hydraulics, signal, and methanol injection will be provided through an umbilical from the Goodwyn A Platform. The control system will be manufactured in Aberdeen, with local support via Kvaerner's Perth office.
