Yemen reports of new oil find

Nabil al-Gawsil, who heads up the oil ministry's petroleum exploration and production board, announced the discovery of new crude oil reserves in Yemen's eastern Hadramaut province.
"Testing operations at an oil well in Block 53 in Hadramaut, where the British company Dove (Energy) works, confirmed the discovery of 80 % oil and 20 % water. ""Previous records of the well showed an oil layer 35 feet (11 metres) thick", Gawsil said.
There are almost 20 foreign countries working in Yemen which already has total oil reserves estimated at 5.7 bn barrels. Daily production currently stands at 440,000 bpd.
