The central commission on the development of oil and gas deposits at the Russian Energy Ministry has approved a new process scheme for the development of the Permo-Carboniferous field of the Usinskoye oil deposit. Oil yield from its formations will be more than doubled.
According to Anatoly Gubarev, the Komi republic's deputy minister of coal, oil and gas industry, the new scheme provides for drilling and developing 1,460 wells and mounting around 200 high-capacity steam generators by 2025. Oil at the deposit is produced with the use of thermal impact on formation. All those measures will make it possible to raise the oil yield of formations from 15 to 33%.
The current oil output will be raised from 1.5 mm tons to 6.5 mm tons annually. Extractable oil reserves were increased from 92 mm tones to 242 mm tons. The Usinskoye oil deposit may be developed on production-sharing terms. Its operators are Nobel Oil and Komitek.
