Indian gas pipeline to join Kochi and Mangalore by 2004

A 500 km natural gas pipeline is to join the cities of Kochi and Mangalore by 2004, according to the Gas Authority of India. The route for the project, expected to cost in the region of 1,200 crore-rupee, is to pass through Thrissur, Kozikote, Kanoor, Kasargod and on to Mangalore.
The Gas Authority has begun acquisition of land for the scheme and it is thought that it will be of great benefit to the Kannure power project, FACT and the BSIF.
