LUKoil makes $ 1.452 bn net profit

LUKoil made a $ 1.452 bn net profit, calculated according to US GAAP standards, in the first half of 2000. The company's income totalled $ 6.2 bn in the six-month interval, up 116 % from the same period of 1999, and assets rose to $ 14.6 bn, up 45 %.
Meanwhile, aggregate oil output went up 2 % to 38.5 mm tons and gas output totalled 2.5 bn cm, a 6 % rise. The company invested $ 1.1 bn between January and June of 2000, compared to $ 615 mm in the same period of last year.
