During a visit to France, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov has stated that the Russian government is inviting European companies to take part in the development of the Shtokmanovskoye gas condensate deposit. It is expected that the deposit will be developed on product-sharing terms.
Interest has been shown by Norway's Norsk Hydro, France's TotalFinaElf and the US Conoco. According to Kasyanov, European loans -- in particular, funds from the European Investment Bank (EIB) -- may be solicited to develop the deposit.
