Sudan and UAE discuss boosting oil and energy cooperation

The oil ministers of Sudan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) held talks on boosting cooperation in the oil and energy fields. During the meeting, Sudanese Minister of Energy and Mining Awadh Ahmed Al-Gaz said "Sudan welcomes UAE investors and businessmen" and that it was "ready to remove all obstacles to cooperation in this field."
UAE Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Obeid Bin Saif Al Nasiri, who arrived here, spoke highly of the relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of boosting ties with other Arab states, Sudan in particular. Nasiri said the investment regulations in Sudan were " encouraging and have laid a basis for attracting foreigners to come and invest in Sudan." He called for cooperation in the oil field between the two countries, while praising Sudan for its achievements in oil exploration and extraction.

Representatives from the two countries' public and private sectors attended the meeting, which also touched on cooperation in other areas of common interest. The two sides are expected to sign an agreement on cooperation, which will call on private sectors to take part in investments in various areas, call for promotion of relations and exchange of visits and information.
