Iran to continue to provide Japan with stable oil supplies

Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori and visiting Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh reconfirmed that Iran will continue to provide Japan with stable oil supplies, a Foreign Ministry official said.

In a meeting at the prime minister's official residence, Mori and Zanganeh also decided to promote bilateral ties in fields other than energy, such as cooperation in industrial matters, the official said.
Mori told Zanganeh that relations with Iran are important for Japan since it is the country's third-largest supplier of oil, the official further said.
