Russia reports on fuel production

Russia's State Statistics Committee announced that a total of 313 mm tons of crude oil had been extracted last year, nearly 6 % up on the 1999 figure of about 295.3 mm tons. The committee also stated that 555 bn cm of natural gas had been produced in 2000, the previous year's total being 546.8 bn cm.
These figures were released several weeks after the Russian Energy Ministry released preliminary data indicating that a total of 323.3 mm tons of crude oil and gas condensate and 584.2 mm tons of natural gas had been extracted in the year 2000.

Some 27.2 mm tons of gasoline have been produced in Russia last year, marking a 3.6 % increase on the 1999 figure of about 26.3 mm tons. Fuel oil output, meanwhile, came to 49.2 mm tons, or 1.7 % down on the 1999 figure of about 50.1 mm tons, and gas oil output came to 49.1 mm tons, or 4.9 % up on the previous year's figure of 46.8 mm tons.
