According to Minister of Economics and Trade official Yesirkep Abdrakhmanov, Kazakhstan aims to hike annual oil and gas condensate production to 40.2 mm tons from 35 mm tons in 2000. Abdrakhmanov said that the move forms the basis of working plans of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The government had earlier approved a plan to produce 37.2 mm tons of oil and gas condensate.

From the beginning of January to the end of April, Kazakhstan extracted 13.68 mm tons of oil and gas condensate, which was 19.3 % more than during the same period last year, and 0.3 % above the figure predicted by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. In April, the republic produced 3,295,000 tons of oil and gas condensate, compared with the predicted 3,351,000 tons.
