Italy imports more oil from Iran

Italy's crude oil imports from Iran rose by 106.1 % in January compared to the figure for the same month in 2000, an Italian oil union official has told. The source said that Italy had imported 1.07 mm tons of oil from Iran in January 2001, constituting 14.5 % of its crude oil imports for the month.
Iran stood first among suppliers of Italy's oil in the Middle East and third in the world in January 2001. Saudi Arabia, Syria and Kuwait followed Iran in the list.
