Exports of Russian gas to Europe fall sharply

Exports of Russian gas to Europe have fallen by more than 3 bn cm (106 bn cf) in the first five months of this year, energy officials said.
According to preliminary data, exports to Western Europe, especially Germany and France, had fallen by 2.7 bn cm, Gazexport officials said, adding that exports to Eastern Europe fell by 0.4 bn cm.
Gazprom pledged earlier this month to raise Russian gas exports by 70 bn cmpy by 2010, to reach 200 bn cmpy.
