Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan mutually interested in oil and gas export

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev turned 61. He feels "strong to work and benefit the people of Kazakhstan," he said during a ceremony devoted to the opening of the building of the Turkmen embassy in Astana.
Also on this day, visiting Turkmen president Saparmurat Niyazov and Nursultan Nazarbayev gave a jointly announced that Astana is interested in increasing the export of oil and gas to the south. In particular, he stressed the importance of Kazakhstan's participation in the projects aimed at building of Baku-Ceyhan export oil and gas pipelines and pipelines connecting Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, and the Persian Gulf.
Nazarbayev noted Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan's mutual interest in the export of oil and gas. He reiterated that Kazakhstan, which produces some 30 mm tpy of oil, strives for diversification of oil and gas routes to the world markets.
