Russia-Iran-Qatar cooperation may play effective role on gas market

Promotion of Russia-Iran-Qatar cooperation in the field of gas extraction and export may play an effective role on the gas market. Experts believe that these three countries possess the largest gas deposits and their budget revenues will depend on the sale of cheap natural fuel in the next decade.
At the present time, they note, these countries account for 33.4 % of the global gas output and for 28.5 % of its export. But only Russia recuperates with profit its expenses on gas production and export and, therefore, is in a better position in this respect than Iran and Qatar, whose share in the total gas export is rather small.

In spite of the attempts made in the past decade to develop gas deposits, Iran has so far made no profits from the export of this fuel. In the opinion of Qatar economists, still unclear is the future of the country's "northern deposit", for the development of which more than $ 15 bn were lately allocated.
Iranian specialists are sure that Iran and Qatar should promote cooperation with Russia, because its export potential on the gas market is growing steadily.
