Iran's offshore production ready to boom

Iran's offshore oil production will reach 1.1 mm bpd by 2005, compared with the current level of 660,000 bpd. The managing director of Iran's continental shelf oil company, Abulqasem Hassani, said production at the offshore oil fields at the end of this Iranian year (ends 21 March 2002) will be around 700,000 bpd.
On a separate matter, Hassani said Iran's gas production from Dalan-Kangan, the country's only continental shelf gas field, will reach a daily output of some 500 mm cf at the end 2005. Iran's current total onshore and offshore oil production is 3.552 mm bpd.
