Sep 05, 2001 02:00 AM

The privatisation of electric power companies will generate $ 500 mm revenues for the Peruvian government. The stake in Edelnor is to generate $ 100 mm, while the interest in Etevensa is to be sold until the end of this year for nearly $ 40 mm Etevensa is one of the potential buyers of the Camisea gas through the take or pay contract signed with Electroperu.

The government also holds a 40 % stake in Eepsa through Petroperu. Although that sale has not been defined yet, it is to generate revenues of nearly $ 15 mm. The sale of the northern power distribution companies Electro Centro, Electro Nor Oeste, Electro Norte and Electro Norte Medio will provide the government with $ 210 mm revenues.
The southern power distributors Seal, Electro Sur, Electro Sur Este, Electro Puno and Electro Sur Medio are to generate $ 130 mm revenues for the government.
