Kazakhstan reports on oil and condensate exports

Sep 26, 2001 02:00 AM

Kazakhstan's State Statistics Agency announced that a total of 18.888 mm tons of crude oil and gas condensate worth $ 2.61 bn had been exported in the first seven months of this year. In the same period of 2000, by contrast, some 16.283 mm tons of oil and condensate worth $ 2.33 bn was exported.
The agency further noted that mineral resources, including coal and metals as well as crude oil and gas condensate, had accounted for fully 59 % of all goods exported from Kazakhstan in the January-July period.

Presumably, however, more than half of the oil and condensate extracted in the country was exported. In the January-July period of 2000, Kazakhstani fields yielded some 19.36 mm tons of crude oil and gas condensate, meaning that about 84.1 % of total output was exported.
