Mexico and Bolivia discuss LNG project

Bolivian and Mexican authorities have recently met in order to discuss the project that will be developed by the Bolivian consortium Pacific LNG concerning the exportation of LNG to Mexico and the US.
Mexican authorities suggested Baja California and Lazaro Cardenas as possible places for the construction of gas processing plants. Mexico is expected to face an energy crisis by the year 2006.

Pacific LNG is teamed by Repsol YPF, BP and British Gas. Mexico is interested in importing more than 20 mm cmpd of natural gas.
In Bolivia, Pacific LNG plans to build a gas pipeline between the oil wells and the coast, a liquefying plant and other gas processing plants, among other actions. The project will demand investments of more than $ 5 bn
