Iran forecasts on power output

Iran's electrical power production will reach 39,000 MW by the end of the Iranian year 1384 (March 21, 2005), Energy Minister Habibollah Bitaraf said. Speaking at the introduction ceremony of the new Deputy Electrical Energy Minister and Head of the ministry's giant Tavanir Organization Hassan Ahmadian, Bitaraf revealed that Iran would take long strides in energy field during its Third Five-Year Economic Recovery Plan (March 2000-March 2005).
"Such long strides are exactly matching with the growing needs of the country and will be carried out based on the various designed phases of the relative projects," the energy minister further elaborated.

The new Deputy Energy Minister Dr. Ahmadian, too, said that in 20 years the electrical power production of Iran will stand at 90,000 MW. Ahmadian was formerly the chancellor of Energy Ministry's College for Water and Electricity and deputy planning energy minister.
The former Head of Tavanir Organization Mohammad Melaki appreciated the selfless efforts made by all the personnel and technicians who cooperated with him during his tenure and greatly contributed to boosting Iran's power production.
