Turkmenistan to invest $ 10.4 bn in oil and gas sector in 2010

Turkmenistan will invest $ 10.4 bn in its oil and gas sector in 2010, a 550 % boost from 2000, said Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources Minister Kurbannazar Nazarov.
Under the national oil and gas complex development program, oil and gas condensate output is expected to go up to 28 mm tons and that of gas to 85 bn cm by 2005 and, respectively, to 48 mm tons and 120 bn cm within the following five years.
An estimated 16 mm tons of oil and 70 bn cm of gas is to be exported by 2005 and, respectively, 33 mm tons of oil and 100 bn cm of gas by 2010.
